As the end of the year approaches and apps such as Spotify reveal their users' 2024 wrapped, so too is Pikkit, the leading sports bet tracking app, with "Instant Replay."
Want to know how many bets you won this year? How many parlays you lost by just one leg? And which player sold you the most? All of that information – and much more – is available on Pikkit. Just download the app, connect your sportsbooks and unwrap your year in betting. (Pikkit connects to nearly every major sportsbook – FanDuel, Caesars, Bet365, DraftKings, you name it.)
In 2024, Pikkit tracked 323 million bets from their users (a 48 percent increase from 2023), totaling $10.6 billion in tracked wagers from over 600,000 users.
So what exactly did Pikkit track? Here's just a sampling of the data:
In what may be a surprise to sports fans, the NBA took the most bets of any professional sports league, totaling 34 percent of all wagers placed. In second place was the MLB, and the NFL came in third.
In terms of the type of bets that Pikkit users made, one stood out above the rest: the parlay.
Nearly half of all bets placed in 2024 were either parlays or same-game parlays. To be exact, 49.7% of bets were a parlay of some sort, with 23.7 of the same-game variety. In total, Pikkit users placed 160 million parlays.
How many of those parlays lost by just one leg? 44 million, or 27% of all parlays placed. That left over six billion dollars of almost profit on the board.
The most bet team of the year? The Los Angeles Dodgers, who went on to win the 2024 World Series against the Red Sox.
That echoed a theme of champions across leagues. The most bet team in the NBA was the Boston Celtics, and in the NFL the Kansas City Chiefs. Both teams went on to win their respective league titles.
The worst performing team? The Florida State Seminoles, who resulted in 183,000 lost bets among Pikkit users.
Pikkit even tracked some outlandish strokes of luck – and strokes of misfortune. The longest-odds bet that hit in 2024 was a three-leg golf parlay at the Genesis Scottish Open. One user bet that Wyndham Clark and Richard Mansell would come in top 10, along with Aaron Rai coming in top 5. All three legs hit, and the lucky bettor cashed a ticket of 270,000-to-1.
On the other side of the coin, a truly unfortunate bettor wagered that Jake Burger, who has three total stolen bases in his four-year career, would not steal a base at a line of -1000000. Burger stole a base that day - his only swiped bag the year - and the user lost $300.
All of this information plus your own personal insights are available on the Pikkit app.
